In close collaboration with material supplier Polyscope, we carried out a project for CIE Automotive. The main goal was to create a design avoiding heavy and expensive metal reinforcements while still fulfilling all OEM requirements. All at equal or lower costs.

The CAE-driven approach allowed CIE Automotive to make crucial decisions before the detailed engineering phase and long before physical prototypes had to be built.

We designed and researched several feasible concepts. One plastic design and two plastic-composite hybrid designs. Based on its cost/weight reduction ratio and functional integration options, the plastic one (made in XIRAN) was selected by the client.
