In most of our projects we successfully master the challenges of our customers by applying commercially available Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) software. We do this for a good reasons: Those tools have proven to be reliable, have been validated, and are continuously improved by experts in the appropriate field of knowledge. In addition, working with standard software for FEA, CFD, and process simulations enables us to collaborate easily with our customers and partners by exchanging data or files in common formats and according to widely used standards.

Sometimes customers consult us regarding very special problems, no commercially available standard software package can handle satisfyingly. In those cases, our simulation experts develop new advanced simulation methods suited for specific problems and which are made for being integrated in already existing CAE-workflows. This can be done for instance by linking different standard simulation tools via appropriate interfaces. Alternatively, standard software can be expanded by adding special functionalities. This is done by programming scripts, subroutines, or entire programmes by using multiple programming languages suiting the specific task.


The behaviour of some materials can be influenced by various kinds of production technologies. A well-known example is the anisotropic material behaviour of fibre-reinforced materials which depends on the fibre orientation influenced by the applied production process. Hence, linking a process simulation with any kind of advanced simulations can increase the accuracy of predictive engineering significantly. 


Especially for new production technologies or new material systems, suitable simulation workflows might not be available commercially yet. In those cases, our simulation experts can help developing innovative integrated simulation capabilities based on standard simulation software.


Assessments according to highly specified guidelines often require the execution of multiple repetitive tasks. However, our engineers can automate well-defined tasks by using appropriate programmes or scripts. This offers an immense potential to increase the efficiency of CAE-assessments significantly. But not only the efficiency can be increased but also the quality can benefit from automating, since human related errors can be avoided. In short, automating repetitive tasks saves time and money while delivering higher quality.


Frequently standard simulation software is added by new features promising improved modelling of the purpose they are made for. Often multiple parameters and options must be specified to setup advanced simulation tools. Our simulation experts can investigate which settings are the best for a specific purpose. Further, they can perform validation studies to find out whether a specific tool is suitable for a certain purpose and whether it delivers reliable results. This allows our customers to concentrate on other things and creating maximum traction in their everyday business while we are adding expertise to their simulation capabilities.
